Privacy Policy

1. Scope and operator

This Privacy Policy applies to QuizShelf (the “Service”), including the website and activity tools at quizshelf.pysyntax.com.

2. Information we process

The Service does not provide accounts, sign-in, payments, or contact forms. Activity titles, questions, answers, images, and presentation state that you enter are processed in your browser and on your device by default.

To deliver and secure the site, Cloudflare may process technical and access information such as IP address, request time, browser details, and requested URL. The Service does not maintain a separate application database for this site.

If you email pysyntax91@gmail.com, your email address, message headers, request contents, reply address, and attachments may be processed as needed to handle your question or rights request. Do not send unnecessary sensitive information such as a resident registration number or password.

If you allow analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 may allow Google LLC to process page URL, visit time, browser and device details, referral information, page-view events, approximate location, and analytics cookies or browser identifiers depending on the active tag configuration. The Service does not send names, email addresses, or account IDs to Google Analytics.

3. Device storage and activity data

Language preference, temporary activities, and presenter progress may be stored in localStorage, IndexedDB, or sessionStorage. This data is not automatically sent to the Service server and can be removed through browser storage controls or the activity's reset/delete actions.

Your analytics choice is stored on this device under quizshelf.analytics-consent-v1. It records only whether analytics is allowed or denied. You can change it at any time with the Privacy settings control in the footer.

4. Purposes and legal basis

Cloudflare processes access and technical information only as needed for page delivery, error and abuse prevention, security, and Service reliability. This processing is based on Article 15(1)(6) of the Personal Information Protection Act, for the legitimate interests of delivering and securing the Service.

Email used for a rights request is processed only as needed to respond to the data subject's statutory request, based on Article 15(1)(2) and (6) of the Personal Information Protection Act as applicable to the request.

Google Analytics information is optional and is used to understand visits and improve content and features. It is based on consent under Article 15(1)(1) of the Personal Information Protection Act, and the related international transfer is described as a separate choice. Analytics starts only after your explicit choice and can be withdrawn at any time through Privacy settings.

5. Retention and deletion

Activities and preferences stored on your device may remain until you clear browser storage or delete the activity. The Service does not retain activity content in a separate application database.

The retention period for access and security information processed by Cloudflare follows Cloudflare's applicable policy, agreement, and service configuration. The Service has not verified the exact Edge or Logpush retention period and does not state an unverified fixed period.

Google Analytics user-level and event data are automatically deleted according to the retention setting in the relevant GA4 property's Admin controls. The current QuizShelf GA4 property retains event data for two months and user data for fourteen months, with user-level retention reset on new activity. Aggregated reports may remain longer under Google's policies. Inquiry email is handled in Gmail, but no fixed automatic deletion or retention period has been verified. The operator must document and apply retention and deletion criteria based on request handling and legal obligations.

Personal information is destroyed without delay when its retention purpose ends. Information that must be retained under another law or for dispute handling is separated and retained only for that legal period before deletion.

6. Processors and third-party services

Cloudflare, Inc. provides CDN, DNS, hosting, and security services and handles requests to the site. Google LLC provides Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 only after you allow analytics.

Google LLC may process delivery and storage of an email through Gmail if you email pysyntax91@gmail.com. The Service does not sell personal information and does not provide it to advertising or data-broker services beyond the providers described above. Their current policies are available here.

7. International transfers

Cloudflare, Inc. — Countries: countries outside your own, including the United States, where Cloudflare provides its services. Data: IP address, request time, browser details, requested URL, and security signals needed for processing. Timing and method: a site request over HTTPS. Purpose: page delivery, security, error and abuse prevention. Retention: Cloudflare's applicable policy, agreement, and service configuration. Basis: contract-based processing or storage under Article 28-8(1)(3) and legitimate interests under Article 15(1)(6) of the Personal Information Protection Act. This necessary processing may occur even if analytics is denied.

Google LLC — Countries: countries outside your own, including the United States, where Google provides its services. Data: page URL, visit time, browser and device details, referral information, page-view events, approximate location, and analytics cookies or browser identifiers depending on the active tag configuration. Timing and method: over HTTPS after you consent to analytics and the Google international transfer. Purpose: visit statistics and content or feature improvement. Retention: the relevant GA4 property's Admin setting. Basis: separate consent under Article 28-8(1)(1) and Article 15(1)(1) of the Personal Information Protection Act. Denying or withdrawing consent updates the state to denied and blocks optional cookie or identifier processing and tags requiring consent, but an already loaded Google tag may send limited cookieless pings afterward.

Google LLC (Gmail) — Countries: countries outside your own, including the United States, where Google provides Gmail. Data: your email address, message headers, request contents, reply address, and attachments. Timing and method: when you email pysyntax91@gmail.com. Purpose: handling questions and rights requests. Retention: no fixed period has been verified; the operator must document and apply retention and deletion criteria based on request handling and legal obligations. You can refuse this transfer by not using email, but then we cannot handle an email-based request.

Countries, retention, safeguards, and provider contact details are updated when the providers' policies, agreements, or actual configuration changes. See the provider links below for current contact and safeguard information.

8. Automatic collection and refusal

QuizShelf may store language choice, temporary activities, presenter progress, and your analytics choice in localStorage, IndexedDB, or sessionStorage. This device storage is not automatically sent to the Service server. Clear browser storage or reset an activity to refuse or delete it; some settings or activities may reset.

If you consent to analytics and the Google international transfer, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 may set or read analytics cookies or browser identifiers. Select “Use necessary features only” in the banner or withdraw consent in Privacy settings to update the state to denied and block optional cookie or identifier processing and tags requiring consent. An already loaded Google tag may still send limited cookieless pings after withdrawal.

Cloudflare may automatically process access and security logs and necessary technical information while delivering and securing a site request. Refusing this required processing separately may make site delivery or security features unavailable.

9. Your rights and request procedure

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or withdrawal of consent. You can change analytics consent immediately with the Privacy settings control.

Identity verification for rights requests: email pysyntax91@gmail.com with the Service name, the right you want to exercise, your request, and a way to reply. Please include [QuizShelf privacy] in the subject line. We may request only the minimum identity or representative verification needed to handle the request.

Do not send a resident registration number, password, or a complete copy of an identity document unless specifically required through a secure process. We will respond with the result or reason for refusal under applicable law. Because the Service has no account system or server-side activity store, there may be no activity data for us to retrieve.

10. Children

The Service has no account or direct-input contact form and does not knowingly collect the names or contact details of users under 14. Users under 14 should use the Service with a parent or guardian and should not enter names, contact details, or other personal information into activities.

If processing that requires consent is selected for a user under 14, the legal representative should review this policy and decide whether to consent. A parent or guardian who believes a child's personal information was entered or processed may email pysyntax91@gmail.com to request deletion or restriction.

11. Security and changes

The Service uses HTTPS, static hosting, no separate activity database, and a consent gate for optional third-party tags as reasonable technical and organizational measures. On a shared device, you should clear browser storage and downloaded activity files after use.
